The Washington Chamber of Commerce offers volunteer opportunities throughout the year for those interested in giving back to the community. Whether it’s volunteering your time to register attendees at our workforce training sessions or run kid booths during the Summer Classic, the Chamber has opportunities for everyone.
One of the most rewarding volunteer opportunities is being a volunteer at our Welcome Center. We are always seeking friendly individuals who are passionate about our town. Your job is to welcome visitors to our community and let them know how happy we are to have them here. Tourism is one of Iowa’s greatest resources!

Welcome Center Duties
Welcome Center Volunteers
- It’s a FUN, slow paced environment
- Be at the Front Desk
- Light Reception Work, such as answering calls
- 4 Hour Shifts (from 9am-1pm, or 1-5pm)
- We ask that you do at least one shift a month
- We are currently in search of NEW Welcome Center Volunteers, please contact us if you are interested in helping out

The Washington Chamber of Commerce has joined the Iowa Businesses Against Trafficking (IBAT), a statewide alliance to make Iowa a trafficking-free state.
